Get Lost In The Clouds explores the space between city and trail the threshold where modern performance design meets landscapes shaped by long-standing traditions, rituals, and rhythms of movement. Created in collaboration with On Running and One Block Down, the editorial traces a journey upward: out of the urban grid, through shifting layers of atmosphere, and into the elevated quiet of the mountains.
The narrative begins in the city a place defined by speed, structure, and architectural lines. Here, On’s footwear and technical apparel speak directly to the needs of modern life: agility, resilience, precision. But as the route climbs, the environment transforms. Concrete gives way to scree, traffic noise to wind, and the geometry of buildings dissolves into the irregular contours of high-altitude terrain. The editorial captures that transition, allowing the garments and footwear to reveal how performance design adapts when the conditions shift and the ground becomes unpredictable.
This movement upward highlights a central tension: the contrast between the engineered clarity of contemporary design and the deep-rooted traditions embedded in mountain culture. Footpaths carved over generations, weather systems older than the cities below, and the quiet rituals of navigating elevation all offer a counterpoint to urban modernity. In this setting, On’s technical systems, cushioning, traction, lightweight structures become tools that bridge the two worlds rather than choosing between them.
The visual language of the editorial reflects this duality. Soft cloud banks meet sharp synthetic lines; reflective details catch diffused alpine light; silhouettes designed for city movement are placed against landscapes that demand patience and presence. The title, Get Lost In The Clouds, speaks not only to altitude but to the moment where clarity blurs and perspective shifts when leaving the city allows space for disorientation, introspection, and a different pace of motion.
For One Block Down, the project extends their ongoing dialogue between cultural heritage and contemporary performance. Paired with Orienteer’s terrain-led visual approach, the collaboration becomes a study in elevation and identity: how the gear we wear mirrors the environments we choose to inhabit, and how stepping into the mountains offers a reset from the intensity of the metropolis.
Ultimately, Get Lost In The Clouds is about finding equilibrium. It captures the pull between modern innovation and enduring tradition, between the intensity of the city and the stillness of altitude. It reflects a mindset shared by On Running and One Block Down the belief that movement is a form of exploration, and that clarity often comes when the ground rises and the noise falls away.
